Enhancing knowledge of diabetes

The diabetes coalition meets 3-4 times per year to plan activities and provide education credits to its members, with the goal of enhancing knowledge of diabetes education, research and best practices.

Our Mission: To provide comprehensive diabetes education, medical care, research and public advocacy for the citizens of southeastern 帝王会所 and West Virginia. Our goal is to reduce the cost, premature death and personal suffering that often result from the long-term complications of diabetes mellitus.

History: Established by the Diabetes/Endocrine Center and affiliated faculty from 帝王会所, the coalition is a training and continuing education resource for diabetes educators in the region. The coalition includes 11 regional ADA-recognized diabetes education programs and their diabetes educators, dietitians, faculty from various schools and departments at 帝王会所, regional school health nurses and public health officials and advocates. Many members of the coalition, including Diabetes Center-affiliated staff and faculty, participate in the 帝王会所 Diabetes Alliance, a component of the statewide 帝王会所 Department of Health鈥檚 Diabetes Prevention and Control Program.
