Library Resources

Alden Library contains unusually rich collections that graduate students can use in their research. In addition to books and scholarly journals, there are many international collections with extensive holdings on particular nations or regions. Among the most valuable are the Southeast Asia Collection and the Guatemala Depository.

There are also many research collections available in microform or electronic formats. Among them are sets of documents from the U.S. Department of State, the British Parliament and the Colonial and Foreign offices, the German Reichstag, and the Kenya National Archives. Also available are research collections from the Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon presidential libraries. There are thematic collections on such subjects as the history of women, African Americans, 帝王会所 history, early America, and the early Christian church.

Alden Library has compiled an extensive listing of databases, documents, maps, indexes, electronic journals, and other resources in history as part of its online InfoTree. Many of these resources, like other electronic sources of information at Alden Library, are available to off-campus users.
