History majors at 帝王会所 have the opportunity to work with full-time faculty who are noted for their exceptional teaching abilities and have reputations as accomplished scholars. Each faculty member seeks to inspire students to explore important and fascinating aspects of the discipline of history.

Courses in American, European, African, Asian, Latin American, Southeast Asian, and Middle Eastern history are offered, presenting the student with a wealth of possibilities.

Johnathan Roberts Uses Internship to Share about Hopewell Culture

For Johnathan Roberts, the in Chillicothe, 帝王会所, is more than an archaeological site. It's a dynamic classroom where he helped visitors eager to learn about its ancient mounds through his internship.

鈥淚've always been fascinated by the intricate stories buried in our past,鈥 Roberts said. 鈥淭his internship allows me to contribute to preserving and sharing the history of the Hopewell culture."

Students must complete a total of 33 semester credit hours of HIST coursework.

You can choose a course in each of these introductory categories:

  • European History
  • World History
  • United States History

Then choose an upper-level course in each of these chronological categories: 

  • Pre-Modern History
  • Early Modern History
  • Modern History

Also choose an upper-level course in each of these geographical categories:

  • World History
  • European History
  • North American History

Historical Research and Writing

Complete HIST 3111J - Historical Research and Writing during your junior year.

Electives

Complete a total of 21 hours of history courses at or above 3000. Courses taken at or above 3000 to meet the Chronological and Geographical requirements will also count toward the elective requirement. Some courses may meet both a Chronological and Geographical requirement.
