Office of Research and Grants Seminar Series
The Office of Research and Grants Seminar Series was created to expose medical students, graduate students, postdocs, faculty and staff to a broad range of research activity and to establish a venue that will support the development of new research collaborations, strengthen existing collaborations and enhance programs across all three Heritage College campuses.
The Office of Research and Grants Seminar Series will be held on Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m., in collaboration with the Translational Biomedical Sciences Seminar Series.
Heritage College faculty, staff and students are encouraged to nominate potential speakers for the Office of Research and Grants Seminar Series.
Criteria for Speakers
- Nominated speakers must be external to the Heritage College and should be conducting research in current or emerging areas of Heritage College focus or have expertise that would be valuable for our faculty, students or institutes.
- Each institute (DI, ITDI, OMNI) and emerging area (Primary Care, OPP) can invite up to two speakers per semester and should provide matching funds, if feasible.
Nomination and Selection Process
- Nominations must be submitted to the Office of Research and Grants by completing the online form below.
- Nominations will be reviewed by the associate dean for research and innovation and the TBS seminar coordinator.
- Selection will be determined based on the criteria above and availability of funds/speaker.
- Nominator will be expected to assist ORG staff in inviting and/or building the itinerary for the speaker.
Translational Biomedical Sciences Seminar Series
All seminars (unless otherwise indicated) are held on Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. Please check the TBS website for the current room.
Diabetes Institute Research Seminar Series
The monthly Diabetes Research Seminar Series was created to share research findings, cultivate collaborative interactions and facilitate diabetes education. Seminar topics cover a wide range of disciplines from basic biomedical research to ongoing clinical studies. Speakers include the Diabetes Institute's own talented faculty members, clinical trainees and students, as well as prominent researchers from beyond the institute. Seminars are held the third Friday of every month and include a business meeting prior to the start of the seminar featuring core facilities across the 帝王会所 campus.
帝王会所 Caf茅 Series
Wednesdays at 5 p.m. at The Front Room Coffeehouse at Baker University Center: Topical discussion hosted by guest faculty speaker. Science Caf茅s and Caf茅 Conversations are venues for students to informally share their interests with faculty presenters, staff and the community in a friendly setting.
