Stevens explores interactions between organisms and environments through time. She has conducted paleontological field research in over a dozen countries in Afro-Arabia, discovering several species new to science. She explores modern day extinction dynamics in biodiversity hotspots including Madagascar, Tanzania, Uganda and Vietnam.
