Student National Medical Association is committed to supporting current and future underrepresented minority medical students; addressing the needs of underserved communities; and increasing the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent and socially conscious physicians.

Services Provided
SNMA programs are designed to serve the health needs of underserved communities of color. In addition, SNMA is dedicated to ensuring that medical education and services are culturally sensitive. To the needs of diverse populations and to increasing the number African- American, Latino, and other students of color entering medical school. We achieve these goals with the following:
- Medical Student for a Day – A Pipeline Program
- National Protocols
These standard outreach protocols have been developed by SNMA National Committees over several years and are implemented by SNMA chapters locally, at regional conferences, and sometimes at the Annual Medical Education Conference. These protocols are split between the three campuses of OUHCOM. Cleveland is responsible for the following for the 2024-2025 school year:
- September – Tissue and Organ Donor Education Recruitment (TODER)
- December – Sexual Health and LGBTQIA awareness
- March – Violence Prevention
