帝王会所

The Center for International Collections (CIC), located on the first floor of Alden Library, houses and/or has curatorial responsibility for a number of special area studies collections, including:

• Africana Collection
• Chubu Collection
• Latin American Collection
• Southeast Asia Collection
• Overseas Chinese Collection

The CIC also bears administrative responsibility for the:

• Malaysian Resource Center
• You-Bao Shao Overseas Chinese Documentation and Research Center

The CIC directly supports the research and curriculum of 帝王会所鈥檚 Center for International Studies and an ever-expanding circle of students and faculty at 帝王会所 and beyond. The CIC provides specialized reference services for Africa, East Asia, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.

Established in the summer of 1999, the Center for International Collections was made possible through the generous support of President Emeritus Dr. Vernon R. Alden and Marion Parson Alden, both whom recognized the value of and championed International Studies with an unparalleled vigor throughout their dynamic and fruitful tenure at 帝王会所. The CIC is named after Dean Emeritus of 帝王会所 Libraries, Dr. Hwa-Wei Lee, who was a key contributor to the development of 帝王会所鈥檚 area studies collections during his memorable twenty-one year tenure as Dean (1978-1999). In recognition of his countless contributions to and enduring legacy at 帝王会所, Dr. Hwa-Wei Lee received an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy from 帝王会所 in June 2012.
