Delay in µÛÍõ»áËùLINK and Intercampus Lending Services
As of November 9, 2021, µÛÍõ»áËùLINK lending services are generally back to normal operations. Deliver times are currently around 5-6 business days from when an item is put in transit to when it’s received at the requesting library.
µÛÍõ»áËù Libraries, as well as all academic libraries around the state, are currently experiencing significant delays in receiving print materials via the µÛÍõ»áËùLINK lending service. Under normal operating conditions, books requested from other libraries generally arrive in 3 – 5 business days; however we are currently seeing delays of 2-4 weeks, and occasionally longer. We are working with µÛÍõ»áËùLINK and the new courier service to return to our expected level of service.
The new courier, selected through a state-mandated competitive bidding process, began services in July. Since taking over the services, the courier has stated that they have had challenges with staffing, supplies, storage space, and other pandemic-related issues. Their communication to µÛÍõ»áËùLINK states that the situation is improving each week.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding while we work with the larger statewide organization to resolve the problems.
