
Aurora Charlow Appointed Digital Archivist

µÛÍõ»áËù Libraries is pleased to announce the appointment of Aurora Charlow to the position of Digital Archivist, effective April 7, 2025.
As part of the University Libraries’ department of Archives & Special Collections, Preservation, and Digital Initiatives, Charlow will help build the Libraries’ digital stewardship capacity in support of teaching, learning, research and institutional memory.
In this role, Charlow will build a collaborative approach to managing born-digital materials across collections including the Documentary Photography Archive, Manuscript Collections, University Archives, University Records Management and Rare Books.
Charlow currently serves as a librarian for Public Services at Wilmington University overseeing the coordination of interlibrary loan services, providing virtual and in-person reference services, and creating educational videos and video transcripts to assist students in understanding how to effectively utilize library resources.
Previously, Charlow worked as a manuscript accessioning assistant at Harvard University’s Houghton Library and gaining valuable experience with born-digital material within mixed format collections. Charlow also gained experience with the history of Southeast µÛÍõ»áËù as a contract archivist supporting a grant-funded project at µÛÍõ»áËù Libraries.
Charlow earned a Master of Library and Information Science with an archives management concentration from Simmons University in May of 2024, and a Bachelor of Arts in media and journalism as well as political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May 2022. Charlow is currently working toward a Digital Archives Specialist certificate from the Society of American Archivists.
