Marc Singer joined the faculty of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in 2013. He teaches introductory courses in chemical engineering but specializes in material science, with advanced and laboratory courses focusing on material properties, steel metallography, and corrosion. Singer is also the associate director for project development at the Russ College鈥檚 Institute for Corrosion and Multiphase Technology (ICMT), where he has been conducting research in diverse roles since 2002. Singer is now leading activities related to corrosion of steel funded mainly by the oil and gas industry, with which he has developed an extensive collaborative network. He is a subject matter expert on the topic of corrosion under dewing conditions, or Top of the Line Corrosion (TLC). He has authored numerous publications on the subject, has been invited as keynote speaker to several international venues, and is regularly consulted by the industry on design and operational issues.
