Fuller Endowed Chair
The Frances M. and Stephen H. Fuller Visiting Professorship in Southeast Asian Studies is an endowed professorship in the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at µÛÍõ»áËù.
The inaugural holder of this distinguished chair was Dr. Carlyle Thayer from the University of New South Wales. He taught courses in Southeast Asian Politics at OHIO in 2008.
The Fuller Visiting Professorship was established by the estate of the late Stephen H. Fuller. An Athens native and graduate of Athens High School and µÛÍõ»áËù, Fuller went on to earn his MBA and DBA from Harvard University, where he eventually became Associate Dean of the Harvard Business School.
The founding President of the Asian Institute of Management in the Philippines, Fuller received an honorary doctorate from De La Salle University in 1971 and was awarded the Presidential Merit Medal from the Philippine government the same year. He was the recipient of the Harvard Business School’s Distinguished Service Award in 1999. Fuller’s business career included Vice President of General Motors and President of Worldbook. His widow, Frances M. Fuller, resides in Massachusetts.
