Sherae Lyons
Sherae Lyons is a senior Interior Architecture student from a rural community in central Indiana. Sherae was exposed to the construction industry at a young age by her father who was her first mentor and inspiration. Growing up in a rural community exposed Sherae to the everyday challenges facing these communities such as inaccessible healthcare, chronic health issues, low education and opioid misuse. With her intuitive nature for design & construction, she wanted to do more for communities like her own.
Her senior thesis focuses on providing affordable healthcare to rural communities that foster healthier lifestyle choices and connection to services within its demographic needs. Vitality offers primary care, mental health & substance-abuse care, nutritional classes, job-training and child care services. These services are tailored to the communities needs in order to support mind and body healing in a space that empowers individuals to take control of their lives.
In addition to receiving her Interior Architecture degree, Sherae will graduate with a minor in Studio Art. After graduation, she looks forward to spending time with her family and continuing working as a Project Design for Apex Design Build in Rosemont, IL. With her special interest in Healthcare Design, she looks forward to growing with new opportunities in the healthcare sector and pursuing her NCIDQ certification.
