Sculpture + Expanded Practice

Concentration within the B.F.A. Studio Art program

What you’ll learn

The Sculpture + Expanded Practice program is rooted in the creation of immersive works and contemporary sculpture. You’ll learn fabrication and reductive modes in a variety of materials to explore the use of space. You’ll also create installations, environmental alterations, social-interventions, performance events, and collaborative projects.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW AND REQUIREMENT

Career opportunities

Many recent graduates are actively participating in the art field through graduate programs, working as artist’s assistants, and showing their work across the country and abroad in noteworthy exhibitions. Both graduate and undergrad students often find employment as professors, visiting artists at universities and public schools, and museum and gallery workers.

Admission

Students can start out as B.A. or B.F.A. Studio Art majors, or start out in the B.A. Studio Art major and then apply to enter the B.F.A. degree at a later date. There are no requirements beyond University admission requirements to become a Studio Art major.
