Community Impact

The Voinovich School, through research, partnership and education, works at the intersection of public policy, energy and the environment, economic development and health. We integrate professional education, training, leadership development and capacity building into community partnerships so our students gain hands-on research and leadership experience through project work based on community needs.

    The Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health Prevention and Promotion is a statewide partnership focused on building infrastructure and capacity to address mental, emotional and behavioral health.

    Leading turnaround for Piketon site


    The former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in µÛÍõ»áËù, known as PORTS, is being redeveloped through the PORTSfuture initiative led by OHIO's Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service. The goal is to transform the site into a clean energy production and sustainable manufacturing complex, starting with a $1.5 billion-plus project by Newpoint Gas focused on clean hydrogen production and electricity generation. This redevelopment effort has the potential to create enduring jobs and positively impact the surrounding region.

Inspiring and teaching leaders who serve

The Voinovich School combines research with project-based community projects to give students rich and fulfilling learning experiences. Students learn alongside faculty with expertise in public policy, energy and the environment, and health.
