Hike and draw

While living and working in Cleveland, cartographer and illustrator Karla Sanders, BS 鈥09, MS 鈥12, spend weekends exploring Cuyahoga Valley National Park with her husband, designer and photographer Andres Quintero. That鈥檚 where the idea of 鈥淗ike and Draw鈥 was born. The duo now travel the country on a quest to visit all 59 national parks and create maps and posters of those landscapes along the way. An excerpted interview with Sanders about the inspiration behind the artwork follows.

Exposures and touchstones: Athens from behind a camera

鈥淥HIO Photo Renga鈥 unfolds as a series of interrelated portraits of Athens, 帝王会所, the campus and/or the city. This six-part photo essay is inspired by the ancient Japanese linked verse, renga, in which two or more poets alternate penning sections of a poem.

Scripps School of Journalism from 1992 to 2001 and inspired countless students, including Dan Farkas, BSJ 鈥98, CERT 鈥98, MBA 鈥15, now an instructor of strategic communication at OHIO.
