µÛÍõ»áËù's Science Café presents Jason Trembly discussing "Embodied Carbon and Climate Change" on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 5 p.m. at the Baker Center Theater on the second floor of Baker University Center and via
Trembly’s cafe will highlight the importance of reducing embodied carbon — a measurement of carbon dioxide emissions associated with the manufacture of materials, from extraction to transportation and assembly. He will discuss how repurposing legacy carbon wastes can create more sustainable building materials and help meet climate change goals.
Trembly is the Russ Professor of Mechanical Engineering and director of the Institute for Sustainable Energy and the Environment, a multi-disciplinary research organization in the Russ College of Engineering and Technology that is focused on developing future leaders to solve global sustainability challenges.
As part of the café, Trembly will give an overview of institute research and student involvement opportunities.
