Regulating the Temperature of the Room

These halls are heated and cooled by a system that controls the whole building. You will see a thermostat on the wall of your room that can be seasonally adjusted. For example, during the summer months, you can adjust the temperature up or down, but you cannot turn on the heat. During the winter months, you can adjust the temperature up or down, but not turn on the air conditioning.

Upright Fan Coil Units

The individually controlled fan coil HVAC units found in most renovated residence halls require at least 2 feet of clearance in front of the unit at the floor where the air intake is located. Failing to allow proper air flow into the unit reduces the amount of air it can circulate, which can lead to reduced air quality in the room.
