Graduate Students

ONCA supports students currently enrolled in a graduate program or who have completed some graduate coursework in applying for the following awards.

Awards for summer research, internships, and study abroad:

Critical Language Scholarship

Provides full funding for students to experience cultural immersion and foreign language programs overseas for 8-10 weeks during the summer.

Humanity in Action Fellowship

Brings together international groups of students for a month-long summer program on human rights and democracy in Amsterdam, Atlanta, Berlin, Copenhagen, Sarajevo, or Warsaw.

Awards for longer-term study and research abroad:

David L. Boren Fellowship for International Study

Supports graduate students pursuing the study of languages, cultures and world regions that are critical to U.S. interests, in exchange for a commitment to work for the federal government.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program

Provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or English Teaching Assistantships.

Awards for graduate school tuition, research, and creative activity:

BMI Student Composer Award

Awards for vocal, instrumental, and/or electronic classical music compositions made by students who are citizens of a country in the Western Hemisphere.

Byron Hanke Fellowship

Awards graduate students implementing research projects related to developing, managing, and governing 鈥渃ommon-interest communities鈥 and housing developments.

David L. Boren Fellowship for International Study

Supports graduate students pursuing the study of languages, cultures and world regions that are critical to U.S. interests, in exchange for a commitment to work for the federal government.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program

Provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or English Teaching Assistantships.

Gates Cambridge Scholarship

A highly selective and prestigious award open to students who are a citizen of any country outside the United Kingdom and who are interesting in applying to pursue a graduate or PhD education at the University of Cambridge.

La Unidad Latina

Awards scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students residing in the United States who are dedicated to the civic empowerment of Latino communities.

Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship

Funds graduate school in the U.S. for "new Americans" (green card holders or naturalized citizens if born abroad; a child of naturalized citizens if born in this country).

Rhodes Scholarship

Provides exceptional students with funding for a graduate degree or degrees at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

Schwarzman Scholars Program

Provides a one-year leadership program for future leaders at Tsinghua University in Beijing.
