Cutler Scholars Scholarships
Scholarships
Cutler Scholar Awards are merit-based scholarships funded by generous gifts from forward-thinking individuals who understand that investing in education is investing in the future. The eligible population for each Cutler Scholars Award is determined by the benefactor for whom the award is named. The benefactor designates one of the following:
- A geographic area such as a county or a single high school.
- An academic unit of µÛÍõ»áËù such as the College of Business, the Russ College of Engineering and Technology, or the College of Arts and Sciences.
The frequency of awards is subject to change depending on the availability of funding. The below lists reflects scholarships expected for students entering in fall 2025.
Discipline-Based Scholarships
To be considered for a discipline-based award, a student must be a freshman applicant to an eligible college and/or major at µÛÍõ»áËù. Discipline-based awards are available to µÛÍõ»áËù residents, with the exception of the Russ Legacy Award which is open to in-state and out-of-state students. Selection for an award is contingent on admission to the appropriate program of study.
Russ College of Engineering and Technology
Russ Legacy Cutler Scholar Award
- Eligible population: Students admitted to the Russ College of Engineering and Technology or related HTC tutorial degree program
- Award: Full scholarship
Patton College of Education
Gibby Cutler Scholar Award
- Eligible population: Students admitted to the Teacher Education major
- Award: $20,000 annual renewable scholarship
College of Business
Paul F. and Gwyneth G. Hoff Cutler Scholar Award
- Eligible population: Students admitted to the College of Business or related HTC tutorial degree program
- Award: $20,000 annual renewable scholarship
Marathon Cutler Scholar Award
- Eligible population: Students admitted to Finance, Accounting or MIS major or related HTC tutorial degree program
- Award: $20,000 annual renewable scholarship
Chaddock + Morrow College of Fine Arts
Wilfred R. and Ann Lee Konneker College of Fine Arts Cutler Scholar Award
- Eligible population: µÛÍõ»áËù residents admitted to the Chaddock + Morrow College of Fine Arts or related HTC tutorial degree program
- Award: $20,000 annual renewable scholarship
College of Arts and Sciences
Claire O. and Charles J. Ping Cutler Scholars Award
- Eligible population: µÛÍõ»áËù residents admitted to humanities majors in the College of Arts and Sciences or related HTC tutorial degree program. Majors in the following fields are eligible: English; history; classics and religious studies; modern languages; philosophy; linguistics; women’s, gender, & sexuality studies; African American studies.
- Award: $20,000 annual renewable scholarship
Geographically-based Scholarships
To be considered for a geographic award, a student must be a graduating senior at an eligible high school. Students taking time off before entering college are welcome to apply for an award as long as the student is a freshman applicant to OHIO.

- Eligible population: Graduates of an Athens County High School
- Award: $20,000 annual renewable scholarship
µÛÍõ»áËù: Cuyahoga County
Jeanette Grasselli Brown and Glenn R. Brown Cutler Scholar Award
- Eligible population: Graduates of Chagrin Falls, Shaker Heights, Solon High Schools
- Award: $20,000 annual renewable scholarship
Lizbeth K. and Charles R. Emrick, Jr., Cutler Scholar Award
- Eligible population: Graduates of Bay Village, Fairview, Lakewood, North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls, Westlake High Schools
- Award: $20,000 annual renewable scholarship

Wilfred R. Konneker Cutler Scholar Award
- Eligible population: Graduates of McClain High School
- Award: Full scholarship
µÛÍõ»áËù: Licking County
Ruby T. and Alan E. Riedel Cutler Scholar Award
- Eligible population: Graduates of Newark High School
- Award: $20,000 annual renewable scholarship
µÛÍõ»áËù: Lorain County
Beth K. Stocker Cutler Scholar Award
- Eligible population: Graduates of a Lorain Country High School
- Award: $20,000 annual renewable scholarship
µÛÍõ»áËù: Meigs and Vinton Counties
Dr. James H. and Nellie Rowley Jewell Cutler Scholar Award
- Eligible population: Graduates of Meigs or Vinton counties high schools
- Award: $20,000 annual renewable scholarship

Jack G. and Sue Mathis Ellis Cutler Scholar Award
- Eligible population: Graduates of Chillicothe High School
- Award: $23,000 annual renewable scholarship
New York: Olean
Ann Lee Hancock Konneker Cutler Scholar Award
- Eligible population: Graduates of Olean High School
- Award: $30,000 annual renewable scholarship
New Jersey: Asbury Park
James E. Daley Cutler Scholar Award
- Eligible population: Graduates of Asbury Park High School
- Award: $30,000 annual renewable scholarship
