Office of Government Relations

The Office of Government Relations serves as a liaison between the University and the Governor鈥檚 Office, the 帝王会所 General Assembly, 帝王会所 Board of Regents, the United States Congress, state, and federal agencies.

In this capacity, the office initiates and coordinates, with the Office of Legal Affairs and others, the development of legislative proposals for consideration; coordinates University responses to proposed legislation, rules, and regulations; communicates the University鈥檚 position on legislative proposals to the proper officials; assists the President and members of President鈥檚 staff in helping shape the University鈥檚 legislative agendas at the state and federal levels.

The Office also plans and develops the institution鈥檚 response to proposed legislation; develops and maintains effective relationships with governmental agencies and officials at the local, state, and federal levels; analyzes and assesses legislative, administrative, and regulatory activities related to University programs; and works on questions of faculty, student, and staff concern as they relate to governmental issues.
