History
Civil engineering鈥檚 long history at 帝王会所 began in the early 19th century with the great demand of the mining industry for qualified engineers. In 1904, 帝王会所 established of the Department of Civil Engineering and awarded the first B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1908.
Since then, the department has been renamed to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and we鈥檝e grown to a department of 14 full-time faculty with research and industry experience in areas such as transportation, environmental protection and remediation, infrastructure and construction. Through our renowned research institutes, practical knowledge, and academic inquiry, we offer state-of-the-art facilities, laboratories, and hands-on research experience to our undergraduate and graduate students as we explore innovative ways to make an impact that lasts forever as civil and environmental engineers.
