Research and Creative Activity
The staff of the Stevens Literacy Center engages in both original research and creative activities that advance knowledge and practices in literacy-related fields. Original peer-reviewed manuscripts appear in regional, state, and national publications. Individual staff members engage in a variety of professional organizations, often in leadership roles, and present research and professional development workshops at state and national conferences.
Appalachian Writing Project
The µÛÍõ»áËù Appalachian Writing Program was established in 2007 as an affiliate of the National Writing Project. We believe that writing can transform students’ learning in any subject area and that teaching writing can and should be central to learning.
