A&S Human Resources and Employment Unit
Human Resources Unit — There are two staff members in the college to assist departments with all their human resources-related tasks and hiring needs for faculty, staff and students. The college is also assigned an HR Liaison, Shellie McVey, to serve as a business partner with the administration and the HR Staff to provide additional support.
What We Do
- Recruitment and hiring of faculty and staff, including research staff such as postdocs
- Pool postings for emergency hiring needs
- Initial onboarding for staff
- Student hiring and onboarding
- Work study related questions
- Family Medical Leave (FMLA) and other leaves of absence for faculty and staff
- Retirements, resignations, and other separations
- Visiting scholar support
- Assistance with position descriptions
- Performance management assistance
- Employee contact lists and other employee data
