Contemporary History Institute Speaker Series
The Contemporary History Institute sponsors an active program of events, not only to increase the breadth of the program but also to providing opportunities for students to interact with prominent specialists from a wide variety of fields.
The Institute regularly brings distinguished speakers to Athens to conduct seminars and deliver public lectures.
The CHI Speakers Series welcomes between three and five people each quarter to lecture on a variety of ideas, contemporary research, and prominent issues. Students may make suggestions about the speakers they would be interested in hearing and often the Institute is able to fulfill those requests.
The Baker Peace Conference, usually held in the spring, draws participants from the highest echelons of academia and public affairs to discuss an issue of national, and oftentimes international, significance. Students and the public benefit from this serious, non-polemic examination of these important issues.
