Bobcat Creators: Social Media Student Ambassadors

Bobcat Creators are responsible for showcasing 's campus and what it means to be a Bobcat through content on ’s social media accounts (primarily TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts) that showcase campus life and culture.

Creators will provide ideas to ’s Social Media Team for content to be created (including social media trend suggestions), appear in content and create content themselves.

Content produced through the Bobcat Creators program diversifies ’s social media content through a variety of perspectives, backgrounds and content interests, and aids the University in maintaining its standing as one of the top higher education institutions in the country on social media.

If you are not accepted into the program upon your first application, you may apply to be reconsidered in future academic years. Spaces in the program are limited.

Before applying, be sure to fully review program eligibility details and expectations.

Who Can Apply?

Currently enrolled, undergraduate students (Athens campus) in any academic year and in any major are eligible to be a Bobcat Creator. Content creation experience is not required.

The most ideal candidates for the Bobcat Creators program are social media-savvy students who have a deep understanding of OHIO’s culture, are involved in student life and are deeply passionate about the University. From aspiring influencers to the social media obsessed and internet culture connoisseurs, those who heavily utilize social media and observe trends or those who create content themselves will have the most to contribute to the program.

Fall 2025 incoming students are not eligible for the program. You must currently be on campus to qualify.

Expectations

Bobcat Creators will provide ideas for, and appear in, social media content captured, edited, and posted by the OHIO Social Media Team. Creators will additionally occasionally create content autonomously, including content such as day-in-the-life vlogs, showcasing campus events they attend or other content ideas they have.

Failure to meet these expectations will result in a conversation with OHIO Social Media Team staff to discuss the student’s ability to commit to the program, including potential release from the Bobcat Creators program if expectations cannot be met.

At the end of each academic year, the OHIO Social Media Team will review the performance of the current Bobcat Creators based on program expectations and determine who is eligible to continue into the next academic year if they choose to do so.
