OHIO Zanesville invites community to dynamic March events

µÛÍõ»áËù Zanesville invites the community to participate in a diverse lineup of events this March. As we gear up for the second half of the spring semester, these activities offer unique opportunities to engage with the campus and the Zanesville community

March 2 | 3 p.m. | Elson Hall Auditorium

Day in the Life of a Social Worker
March 3 | 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. | Elson Hall Atrium

Discover more about the social work career from those in the field making a difference in the community. Join this event to hear more about a day in the life of a social worker, obtain a FREE CEU, and learn more about area career opportunities from agencies in the region.

March 4 | 4 p.m. | Zanesville Campus Library

Join the Zanesville Campus Library for an exciting Women’s History Month Trivia Night. Test your knowledge on trailblazing women, historic milestones, and groundbreaking achievements across history. Gather your friends to form a team and enjoy an evening of fun, learning, and empowerment. Don’t miss this chance to honor the past, celebrate the present, and inspire the future!

March 8 | 7 p.m. | Rogge Pavilion

Join the Zanesville Astronomy Club as they kick off the 2025 season at the Lewis Telescope on the µÛÍõ»áËù Zanesville campus. This event is open to the public.  

March 18 | 4 p.m. | Zanesville Campus Library – Study Room A

The Sips and Stories book club meets once a month on the third Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m. (unless the university/campus is closed). During each meeting the group will discuss the chosen book and enjoy a tea pairing that goes along with the book. At the first meeting, the group will be discussing "An Echo in the City," by K.X. Song.

Come join the discussion to broaden your reading horizons, learn about new teas, and meet new people.

Do you own your own business or are interested in starting one? Join the µÛÍõ»áËù Small Business Development Center to learn tools to make your business a success. Stop by to learn more in Elson Hall Room 189.

March 19 | 3 p.m. | Zanesville Campus Library

Take a deep breath and discover the transformative benefits of Qigong, an ancient Chinese practice that combines movement, breath control, and meditation to promote physical and mental well-being. Join instructor Beth Brown for this beginner-friendly session, where you'll learn the fundamentals of Qigong and experience how this practice can help reduce stress, improve flexibility, and enhance your overall energy flow.

Whether you’re new to mind-body practices or simply looking for a gentle way to enhance your health and vitality, this workshop will guide you through easy-to-follow exercises designed to balance and harmonize your body’s energy. This session is ideal for those looking for a calm, low-impact workout that supports both mental clarity and physical health. No prior experience is necessary—just come dressed comfortably and ready to learn.

RSVP: This event is free and open to all, but space may be limited. Join in for an hour of relaxation, rejuvenation, and mindfulness!

March 25 | 3:30 p.m. | Zanesville Campus Library

Join a celebration of µÛÍõ»áËù Zanesville faculty and staff who have published research and other work between March 2022 and March 2025.

Hosted by the Zanesville Campus Library staff, this event marks the return of this typically annual event after a three-year hiatus. Attendees can expect to see works published, hear individual recognition of the authors by the campus dean and enjoy refreshments and socializing. 

March 25 | 3:30 p.m. | Zanesville Campus Library or Virtual

Students and Bobcat graduates in the community will gain practical insights into the art of finding exciting job opportunities and internships. We'll navigate through the intricate landscape of job searching. From leveraging online platforms and networking techniques to understanding the importance of a compelling online presence, students will learn the skills essential for securing internships and jobs.

You're never too old to read young adult books. Join the club members in the library for snacks and fun discussions about great teen novels. For more information, connect with the Zanesville Campus Library staff.
