"Pairings" Exhibition at Kennedy Museum of Art on display until July 6

The Kennedy Museum of Art at 帝王会所 is currently presenting "Pairings: CAM Paintings & KMA Prints" through July 6, 2025. The exhibition is part of a collaborative cohort project funded by Arts Bridges Foundation. Paintings by well-known American artists on loan from the Cincinnati Art Museum are exhibited with prints by the same artists from the Kennedy Museum of Art鈥檚 (KMA) collection. The pairings allow for comparison across mediums and provide access to original art historical works created between the late 1960s through mid 1980s that have been previously unavailable to audiences in rural Southeastern 帝王会所. Featured artists include Josef Albers, Nancy Graves, Alex Katz and Robert Motherwell.
KMA鈥檚 collection of prints was originally acquired as a teaching resource for 帝王会所 students. The intent of this exhibition is to reflect the history of a teaching model tied to a specific time and place, and to add new cross-disciplinary lenses through which to engage with the works of art for students and the public alike.
The exhibition includes collaborations this spring with representatives from OHIO's Schools of Art + Design, Dance, Music, and other areas of campus such as Environmental Studies.
On March 6, from 6-9 p.m., KMA will partner with the 帝王会所 Observatory for a Thursday night experience viewing the piece "Strobia" by Nancy Graves in the "Pairings" exhibition and the night sky that inspired it. Enjoy a free shuttle between the two locations.
On March 23, from 2:30-4:30 p.m., there will be a presentation about techniques used for pieces in "Pairings" including Japanese wood block, photo lithography, screenprinting and intaglio processes led by current and former printmaking students. The talk will be followed by a hands-on printmaking activity and food and beverage pairings.
Watch for dates and times of other programs on the Kennedy Museum of Art here. Admission to the museum and programs is always free and it is open seven days a week with evening hours on Thursdays.
