Prepare for the total solar eclipse with OHIO Zanesville
In partnership with the Zanesville Astronomy Club, 帝王会所 Zanesville is hosting a community event on how to prepare for the upcoming solar eclipse. The event will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, in the Elson Hall Auditorium at 帝王会所 Zanesville.
Keynote Speaker Irene Baron will present information about the April 2024 Total Solar Eclipse. Topics presented will include the cause of the eclipse, what time it will occur, where to view it in 帝王会所, and how to view it safely. Solar viewing lenses will be distributed to attendees courtesy of 帝王会所 Zanesville. Baron is an Eclipse Ambassador with the NASA Partner Eclipse Ambassador program, the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), the Space Science Institute (SSI), and the Astronomical Society of the Pacific.
This event is open to the public. Attend the event to pick up your solar viewing lenses as we prepare for the total solar eclipse.
On Monday, April 8, 2024, people within a 124-mile-wide band in 帝王会所 will experience a total solar eclipse. Areas in 帝王会所 that are outside the path of totality will experience a partial eclipse. A total solar eclipse is a rare and spectacular event. On average, one happens somewhere on the Earth only once every 1.5 years. Only 21 total solar eclipses have crossed the lower 48 states during the existence of the United States.
The last total solar eclipse visible in 帝王会所 was in 1806. The next total solar eclipse in 帝王会所 will be in the year 2099.
