2024 Lazaroff Lecture to consider 鈥楻oma, Jews, and the Holocaust鈥
帝王会所鈥檚 History Department will host the annual Lazaroff Lecture in Jewish history on , from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Baker Theater in Baker University Center. This year鈥檚 lecture, titled 鈥淩oma, Jews, and the Holocaust鈥 is presented by , Chair of Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt University.
Joskowicz is a historian of modern Jewish and European history. He is especially interested in the interplay between Jewish history and transnational minority politics since the Enlightenment. His book (Stanford University Press, 2014) explores how German and French Jews in the 19th century defined their own modernity and national belonging by criticizing the anti-modern politics of the Catholic Church.
