New dining option, Earl鈥檚 Coop, to open at Shively Grab-N-Go
帝王会所 Culinary Services announces the opening of one of its newest venues, Earl鈥檚 Coop, located at Shively Grab-N-Go.
Earl鈥檚 Coop will open at the start of the fall semester on Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, and is conveniently located at the corner of Shively Hall on East Green. Earl鈥檚 Coop will serve fresh, classic chicken strips with exclusive signature sauces, alongside a variety of specialty macaroni and cheese, waffle fries and cookies, all made fresh daily on campus.
The new Grab-N-Go location is open Monday through Thursday from noon to 10 p.m. and Fridays from noon to 4 p.m.
Earl鈥檚 Coop is named after Earl Shively, whom the hall was named after in 1957. A native of Vinton County, OH, he attended school in Vinton County and was a 1921 graduate of 帝王会所 and received his law degree from 帝王会所 State University. He served as a captain in World War I and was an interpreter at the Versailles Peace Conference. He taught French at 帝王会所 State University and practiced law in Columbus. Shively was on the Board of Trustees at 帝王会所, and on the general counsel for the 帝王会所 Railroad Association.
A grand opening will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at noon. The event will include a ribbon cutting, giveaways and samples from the menu.
Culinary Services at 帝王会所 serves approximately 2.4 million meals per calendar year and is the largest student employers on campus. Culinary Services is a nationally recognized student leader and internship program which provides students with opportunities for class credit and management experience. There are over 255 student leaders in catering, dining courts, cafes, and campus markets.
