Inclusive Pedagogy Workshop set for August 16
The 帝王会所 Division of Diversity and Inclusion and the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost will co-sponsor an Inclusive Pedagogy Workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16, in the Walter Hall Rotunda. All 帝王会所 faculty and staff are welcome to attend.
The goal of the workshop is to discuss strategies and techniques that foster a student-centered approach to teaching that honors and celebrates difference within the classroom to engage all students in learning that is meaningful and accessible. The workshop is designed to provide instructors with techniques and instruments they will be able to use right away in their courses.

Inclusive pedagogy helps to foster deep learning environments for all students,鈥 said Elizabeth Sayrs, executive vice president and provost. 鈥淚 am especially pleased that workshop attendees will have an opportunity to hear directly from our students.鈥
The workshop will include:

- A faculty panel
- A student panel
- Small group discussions focused on immediate action items

鈥淚nclusive pedagogy provides us with tools to help meet our students where they are, creating a space for success in the classroom regardless of background, learning styles or identity. We hope that faculty will leave the sessions with practical tools to enhance the learning experience for all our students,鈥 said Salome Nnoromele, interim vice president of diversity and inclusion.
The Inclusive Pedagogy Workshop is one of various learning opportunities that will be available to faculty and staff in the fall and spring semesters. Information on additional workshops will be shared when it is available.
