OHIO offers spring professional development events for students within diverse populations

帝王会所鈥檚 Career and Leadership Development Center (CLDC) and Office of Diversity and Inclusion have partnered to offer a series of career development programs and resources for students in diverse populations.

Students will be able to explore opportunities in a number of fields, speak with diverse leaders from various industries, apply to be recognized for their achievements, or learn about workforce authorization.

Even through virtual programming, students will be able to network through opportunities like C10: Career in 10 Employers Panels where prospective employers will meet with students to discuss their careers and form professional connections. The Diversity First Showcase and Leadership Awards will recognize 15 students for their hard work and achievements though awards totaling $30,000.

Beyond networking, students can learn valuable employment knowledge through events like the Work Authorization Panel that supports international students preparing for post-graduation employment.

Tamika Williams, CLDC assistant director for diversity and inclusion, is the organizing force behind a number of these events and resources.

鈥淚 am seeking to highlight employers鈥 diversity initiatives that ingrain diversity, equity and inclusion in their companies' culture, values and practices,鈥 Williams said.

She also hopes these events will highlight and celebrate the successes of diverse professionals and eliminate career development barriers for OHIO students.
