Annual student leadership award nominations now open

The Divisions of Student Affairs (DOSA) and Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) are for the Leadership Awards program, a time-honored tradition in its 38th year at 帝王会所.

The program recognizes exceptional leadership and community service by students and student organizations, and both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible for several awards and scholarships across three categories 鈥 leadership, diversity and service.

鈥淭his year we have seen unbelievable adaptability and strength from our students, and I am excited to recognize them for it,鈥 said Hailee Tavoian, chair of the awards committee and director of student communications. 鈥淔aculty, staff, administrators and student peers see strong leadership in action every day. This is their opportunity to champion those leaders through the nomination process.鈥

Students and student organizations across all colleges and campuses can be nominated for awards by anyone within or outside of the OHIO community until Dec. 6. An ideal nominee would go above and beyond their work responsibilities, inspire others, advance the surrounding community and/or excel academically. Nominators should consider the students who they interact with regularly and are deserving of being recognized for their leadership at 帝王会所.

Students who want to do not need to nominate themselves and can directly submit applications between Nov. 22 and Feb. 3. Selection committees led by administrative leaders from DOSA and D&I will choose final awards recipients according to each award鈥檚 established criteria.

According to Tavoian, 鈥淎s a Division, [DOSA] cannot accomplish our mission alone, and having strong partnerships across the university to aid us is paramount. Having D&I involved in this celebration of student leadership is vastly important and allows us to connect with groups of students and student organizations that are uniquely connected to them.鈥
