Virtual 5K helps alumni celebrate Homecoming
The AECOM Center for Sports Administration is partnering with Riddle & Bloom to host a virtual 5K event for Homecoming, giving alumni the opportunity to participate anytime from Oct. 5 to 31. The race will be open to all 帝王会所 alumni and their friends and family, with 25 percent of the proceeds going to the College of Business鈥檚 diversity, equity, and inclusion fund.
This race allows Bobcats around the world to have the opportunity to come together virtually to not only support 帝王会所 and College of Business students, but also to celebrate Homecoming and get exercise while doing so. Participants will be able to register from Oct. 5 to 21, and upon submitting the $44.95 registration fee, they will receive a participant kit in the mail, including a T-shirt, running bib, and race medal. Participant kits will be mailed to the address provided during registration and will begin shipping around Oct. 19.
Due to the virtual running environment, participants have the freedom to run anywhere at any time between Oct. 5 to 31. Participants can choose to register alone or create teams and run virtually with them.
鈥淲e are excited to offer our alumni the option to participate in a virtual 5K from their home running routes. With the ability to join or create race teams during registration, and the participant swag bags, this 5K will help alumni feel like they are participating in a real race,鈥 said Matt Cacciato, executive director for the AECOM Center for Sports Administration.
Once the participants complete their run, they simply need to log in to their EnMotive account, log their results, and download their Finisher鈥檚 Certificate. If participants cannot run by Oct. 31, they will be able to log results and download their certificate until Nov. 15.
Whether alumni prefer to run alone or with a team, they are encouraged to and start virtually celebrating Homecoming week together.
鈥淲hile COVID-19 presents many different challenges, it is important to remember that we are an OHIO family regardless of physical location,鈥 said Cacciato. 鈥淗omecoming is part of an alumni tradition and it is important to reinforce the bobcat spirit and our attachment to the University by continuing to host engaging events.鈥
