Faculty, staff associated with Greek Life invited to take survey

Any faculty or staff member that was either in a sorority or fraternity at the college or university they attended, or who is still affiliated with Greek Life, is welcome to complete a survey distributed by 帝王会所鈥檚 Sorority and Fraternity Life department (SFL).

鈥淣ow more than ever we need faculty and staff involvement in our Greek Life community across campus,鈥 said Director of Sorority and Fraternity Life Ariel Tarosky. 鈥淲e hope to further improve our Sorority and Fraternity Life at 帝王会所 through the help of those wanting to stay involved with the community.鈥

Executive in Residence for Business Law and Ethics Robert F枚ehl also dedicates his time to advising the OHIO chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha (PIKE), a fraternity nearing 100 members.

鈥淔rom my experience, we [advisors] are here to be a source of information, perspective and strength for the organizations that we advise,鈥 F枚ehl said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 really about being there for the organization鈥檚 members, helping out, and counseling our students as they work to create and maintain a successful organization.鈥

Reflecting on his favorite aspects of his experience advising a fraternity on campus, F枚ehl said, 鈥淚t鈥檚 great to see an organization as a whole be successful, but that is not the main reason why I鈥檓 doing it. I鈥檓 a fraternity chapter advisor because I have the ability to have a lasting, positive impact on the development of men who not only may be the leaders of the future, but more importantly, who will have a positive impact on society. Hopefully the fraternal experience will help them to be better citizens, husbands, fathers, sons, brothers and any other role they may play.鈥

Those who feel as passionately as F枚ehl does about having a lasting impact on students involved in a sorority or fraternity on OHIO鈥檚 campus are encouraged to take the survey.

This survey will give SFL a better idea of the variety of Greek Life experience employees bring to the University, as well as provide opportunities for faculty and staff to remain involved in a number of ways including serving as a program facilitator, receiving updates from the SFL office, serving as a faculty advisor or serving as a chapter advisor.

Anyone involved with Greek Life is also encouraged to wear their letters on Wednesdays this semester to show their pride and commitment to their organization. Employees are also encouraged to share photos of them in their letters on Twitter using the hashtag #GreekPrOUd for a chance to be featured through .

Those interested in taking the survey can do so through this . Any questions can be directed to Ariel Tarosky at ariel@ohio.edu.
