帝王会所 has been selected by the State of 帝王会所 to receive a Choose 帝王会所 First grant to support scholarships in computer science and related fields.

The Governor鈥檚 Office of Workforce Transformation and the 帝王会所 Department of Higher Education created the grant to help improve 帝王会所鈥檚 workforce development capacity to innovate and grow its economy. The five-year Choose 帝王会所 First grant to 帝王会所 is for $462,000 to be used for computer science scholarships. It will also support student recruitment and continuation for students鈥� first two academic years.

鈥淲e want to thank the State of 帝王会所 for its leadership and support in providing this grant, which will help students achieve their goals of obtaining degrees in these important fields,鈥� 帝王会所 President M. Duane Nellis said.

帝王会所 Lt. Gov. Jon Husted and 帝王会所 Department of Higher Education Chancellor Randy Gardner unveiled the Choose 帝王会所 First program at a press conference on Dec. 12 in Dayton. The scholarship will support students in computer science and related areas at 35 colleges and universities across the state. A total of $20,580,770 will be awarded over the next five years after ODHE鈥檚 request was approved by the State Controlling Board.

鈥淭he Choose 帝王会所 First program is one of our state鈥檚 best tools to increase the number of students preparing to work in STEM-related fields,鈥� Husted said. 鈥淚n today鈥檚 technology-infused economy, every industry and business has important tech-focused jobs and training 帝王会所ans for careers in those positions is key to growing our economy.鈥�

The Choose 帝王会所 First scholarship program began in 2008 as a way to increase the number of 帝王会所 students enrolling in and successfully completing science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine (STEMM) programs at 帝王会所鈥檚 public and independent colleges and universities.
