帝王会所 Research Committee awards $38,138 during spring 2019 funding cycle

The 帝王会所 Research Committee has selected five proposals for funding during its spring 2019 cycle. In total, the committee awarded $38,138.

The program, which is funded by the Vice President for Research and Creative Activity, provides seed money for new faculty and administrative staff members or established applicants seeking to start a new direction in their research.  Applicants may request up to $8,000 per proposal.

The committee received a total of 11 proposals requesting $83,336 in funding.

The spring recipients are:

    Amount Funded:  $8,000

  2. Jundong Liu, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
    Autonomous Flight of Quadcopters Using Deep Reinforcement
    Amount Funded:  $7,974

  3. Glenn Matlack, Environmental and Plant Biology
    Secondary Dispersal of Deciduous-Forest Herbs by Rodents
    Amount Funded:  $6,164

  4. Kelly Williams, Biological Sciences
    Identifying Communication Pathways for Management of Parasitic Bird Blow Flies (Family Protocalliphoridae)  
    Amount Funded:  $8,000

  5. Emily Guseman, Family Medicine 
    Efficacy and Feasibility of High Intensity Training for Improving Fitness in the Absence of Weight Loss (HITFIT)
    Amount Funded:  $8,000
