Next order of business: a milestone

The trailblazing Ralph and Luci Schey Sales Centre at OHIO鈥檚 College of Business made the 鈥2015 Top Universities for Professional Sales Education鈥 list, as ranked by the Sales Education Foundation, which promotes the field through higher education programs.

The award acknowledges the Schey鈥檚 pioneering approach to professional development, innovative curriculum, and real-world experiences. Students operate the facility, which was founded in 1997, as a business: recruiting sponsoring companies, serving as account managers, and organizing events.

鈥淏eing involved with the Schey Sales Centre helps you prepare for success,鈥 said former student chair Laurel Monroe, BBA 鈥15. A business leadership program associate in global sales at LinkedIn in San Francisco, she credits the Schey with cultivating her poise and communication skills.

鈥淔or nearly 20 years, we have been a leader in sales education and are pleased to be recognized as one of the first鈥攁nd consistently the best鈥攑rofessional sales centers in the country,鈥 said Hugh Sherman, dean of the College of Business. 鈥淲e are extremely proud of our legacy.鈥

The winning way

Norm O鈥橰eilly, chair of the Department of Sports Administration in the College of Business at OHIO, earned a Distinguished Career Contribution Award from the sports and special events marketing interest group of the American Marketing Association (AMA). 鈥淪port marketing has been a major part of my life for two decades and to have that work noted by the AMA is very special,鈥 said O鈥橰eilly in a statement. 鈥淲hat I am most proud of to date are the opportunities I鈥檝e been able to provide my students.鈥 Reilly, the Richard P. and Joan S. Fox Professor of Business, has authored or coauthored seven books and 80-plus peer-reviewed articles. Established in 1937, the AMA counts more than 30,000 members who work, teach, and study in the field.
