Body Measurement
Traditional weavers use parts of their bodies as measuring tools when planning a design, spinning yarn and making a weaving. Hand-span, finger widths, elbow-to-fingertip and bottom of foot-to-knee are common measurements used, which produce a weaving intimately linked to the individual鈥檚 size. So, the weavings you see in this exhibition are in many ways indexed to the weavers who made them.
