What is an ATBI?

An all-taxa biodiversity inventory, or ATBI, is an attempt to document and identify all biological species living in some defined area, usually a park, reserve, or research area.  Since 2002, Crane Hollow Nature Preserve has sponsored this extensive All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory of the preserve鈥檚 flora and fauna. Each specimen in the collection is documented with associated field data, and since 2002, researcher hours spent on specimen and data collection, specimen preparation, and identification total over 70,500 hours.  Gifted to the OHIO Museum Complex by Crane Hollow Nature Preserve in 2022, this core research collection now consists of over  120,000 specimens. Here are some highlights!
