Homecoming 2011

Homecoming 2011 may have featured everything from the traditional parade and football game to a vow renewal ceremony and an uptown block party, but it is the memories made and the good times had by all that will make this homecoming truly unforgettable.

The weekend got off to a roaring start with the Yell Like Hell Pep Rally and the Rock the Block party Friday night. Then, the Homecoming Parade Saturday morning showcased a wide variety of floats from student organizations and local businesses, with top float-decorating honors going to Arts for 帝王会所.

Though the Bobcats lost 23-20 to Ball State at Peden Stadium on Saturday afternoon, the weekend was not without its sports triumphs. During the game, LaVon Brazill, a senior wide receiver, set the OHIO record for career receptions, while the OHIO volleyball team swept Toledo and the field hockey team defeated Missouri State, maintaining their perfect record in conference play.

A vow renewal ceremony Saturday evening saw 23 OHIO couples renew their vows, while tailgating, hayrides, college receptions and a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Konneker Alumni Center rounded out the weekend.

Alumni have left the Athens bricks for now, but we can rest assured that they will be back next year for yet another celebration of the friends, memories and life-long lessons gained at 帝王会所.
