OHIO Esports Broadcasting
µÛÍõ»áËù is responding to the needs of companies such as Esports Engine, eFuse, and Major League Gaming for qualified talent — specifically in the area of broadcasting — by increasing the opportunity for experiential learning around live internet-based broadcasting. Our goal is for a student to join our team to participate in broadcast operations for live programming on the official OHIO Esports Twitch channel.
Students are tasked with assisting the director of esports with broadcasting our competitive events alongside a team of student broadcasters to ensure the live broadcasts are run effectively. This includes setting the schedule for the broadcast (when ads occur, when breaks are taken between matches, etc.) making sure the broadcasts begin and end on time, and that the announcers meet obligations to our corporate partners (shout outs, special thanks, in-game ads, etc.).
Students are responsible for preparing the arena for live events such as prepping/testing cameras, using production software VMix to connect our in-house broadcasting to streaming platforms such as Twitch and YouTube, and ensure the facility is camera ready for our Esports Collegiate Conference events. They will be mentored in this capacity by the Esports Director and the broadcast producer for each of our competitive titles (Rocket League, Valorant, Overwatch 2, and League of Legends).
