Undergraduate Programs

Engineering Students looking at a project.

The ME Department has a traditional Mechanical Engineering undergraduate program that prepares students for a wide range of career opportunities and a new and innovative Energy Engineering undergraduate program that prepares students to work in the important and growing field of sustainable energy solutions. All of our undergraduate students are also given the opportunity and encouragement to integrate an Entrepreneurship Certificate into their undergraduate experience.

Mechanical engineers have a far-reaching impact on the world. Our undergraduate degree program in mechanical engineering will help you understand technology and how to problem-solve. You'll learn not only how to design and create, but how to work in teams, communicate, and lead innovation of new technology, materials, and energy systems. Your studies will also combine courses in engineering, social sciences, and the humanities to build your understanding of our technical society. You'll learn to apply fundamental principles of math, physics, and chemistry to the design of mechanical components and systems through classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory work, and design projects.

In our Energy Engineering program, you鈥檒l study topics from energy economics and policy to fuel conversion and energy systems to become a well-rounded engineer, ready to face the most significant challenges of the century.
