Epidemiology Graduate Certificate
The Graduate Certificate in Epidemiology equips students with essential skills to design and analyze epidemiological studies, interpret results, address risk factors, and apply this knowledge to improve population health outcomes. Offered 100% online in an asynchronous mode, this program is ideal for professionals and students, whether new to the field or looking to build on existing knowledge, seeking to expand their expertise in epidemiology and public health while maintaining flexibility in their schedules.
This program offers a curriculum designed to provide students with critical knowledge and skills, and students will:
- Study the design, analysis, and interpretation of epidemiological studies to make evidence-based public health decisions.
- Learn to identify and investigate risk factors, address health and disease from a population perspective, and evaluate the effectiveness of large-scale health interventions.
- Learn to use public health strategies to tackle the epidemic of chronic diseases, the leading causes of death in the U.S. and globally.
Admissions Requirements
There are no additional admission requirements beyond 帝王会所's graduate admission criteria. This certificate is open to both current degree-seeking students (as an add-on) and individuals with non-degree status (as a stand-alone certificate).
Current 帝王会所 students should speak with their academic advisor about adding the certificate.
Curriculum
The program includes three required courses (9 credit hours):
- HLTH 6730: Epidemiology in Public Health (3 credit hours)
- HLTH 6740: Biostatistics in Public Health (3 credit hours)*
- HLTH 6791: Chronic Disease Epidemiology, Prevention, and Control (3 credit hours)
*Note: A 3-credit hour graduate-level statistics course can be applied within 帝王会所 or transferred from another institution to substitute for HLTH 6740.
