Biography

Stephanie Miller has been teaching Microbiology for non-majors since 2005 and has been part of the Biological Sciences Department 0since 2010. Her commitment to student engagement and success keeps her innovative in the classroom, and she has been working on novel teaching activities since her work at 帝王会所 State University as a Graduate Teaching Assistance 2003. She completed her M.S. degree in Entomology with a research emphasis on entomopathogenic nematodes and other microbial biological control agents of insect pests and studied science education.

Teaching Philosophy

"I consider myself a non-traditional lecturer. I constantly challenge myself to refine and expand on my interactive teaching methods. Lecture is a time for listening, thinking, learning, and discussion. The conversational tone of my lecture and lab courses allows all students, with diverse science backgrounds, to participate and add to our classroom conversations and activities. Student-centered instruction and STEM mentorship are the guiding concepts of my educational style and professional goals."
