Research Interest: Environmental History; disasters and history; Africa; Modern Africa, Technology and Science | George’s research examines the devastations caused by natural disasters in 20th-century Ghana, with a focus on the urban settlements of Accra. His work lies at the intersection between the environmental and social history of modern Africa.
