About the Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Graduate Program

The Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) graduate program in Biological Sciences at 帝王会所 brings together researchers and students interested in biodiversity research.

This includes the hierarchy of biological organization, from genes to species to ecosystems. Investigations are wide-ranging and encompass all manner of biological pattern and process. Examples include studies of organismal structure and function, natural and sexual selection, adaptation, behavior, evolutionary genetics, population biology, community dynamics, species formation, phylogenetics, conservation biology, paleontology, and the history of life on earth.

The Ecology and Evolutionary Biology graduate program combines faculty from the departments of Biological Sciences and Biomedical Sciences. This program is part of the 帝王会所 Center for Ecology & Evolutionary Studies (OCEES), which is an integrative collection of ecology and evolutionary biology faculty and students assembled from diverse departments and colleges across campus.

About the 帝王会所 Center for Ecology and Evolutionary Studies

The 帝王会所 Center for Ecology and Evolutionary Studies (OCEES) resides in College of Arts & Sciences. The mission of the center is to advance the knowledge of ecology and evolutionary biology through an interdisciplinary learning and research community, integrating cutting-edge science and technology with undergraduate and graduate education.

The center's core philosophy is that the frontiers of ecology and evolutionary biology advance by integrating diverse conceptual and methodological approaches from different academic disciplines and separate units within the university. This interdisciplinary approach stimulates new areas of research and collaboration and increases interchange among diverse faculty and students. Accordingly, the best preparation we can provide our students is formal engagement in research in modern integrative biology.

OCEES offers graduate and undergraduate concentrations in the Biological Sciences graduate programs to support and strengthen the research experience for graduate students and superlative undergraduates. OCEES also sponsors the Darwin Lecture series鈥攁 campus wide science education program.
