OUSEMG Intern Analyst Application
OUSEMG provides an accelerated program for students seeking an opportunity to reinforce financial theories through practical application.
Application Deadline: Tuesday, September 17th at 11:59 PM to ousemgboard@gmail.com in PDF format. Additionally, a hard copy must be delivered to the OUSEMG Office in CBA 210.
Application Requirements
- Resume (please limit to one page) with the following information included:
- Expected graduation date
- Overall GPA (must be at least a 3.2) - Freshmen can use high school GPA
- Screenshot of your class schedule
- Answer the following 3 questions:
- What is your view on how you think the United States economy will perform over the next 12 months? How will the stock market perform during the same time period? Please provide at least 3 points to support your thesis.
- If you had $100mn available to invest in a stock portfolio, how would you allocate your money? What sectors would you invest in? What companies? Why?
- In one paragraph, please explain why you are interested in the Equity Management Group.
- Complete Research Task (Analysis of Microsoft Corporation鈥擬SFT):
- For this section, show calculation of each of the following ratios for Microsoft:
- Price-to-Earnings (P/E)
- Price-to-Book (P/B)
- Operating Profit Margin (%)
- Find the same ratios for two of Microsoft鈥檚 competitors
- In 400 words or less, develop your own professional recommendation explaining and supporting your investment recommendation for Microsoft Corporation (MSFT).
- For this section, show calculation of each of the following ratios for Microsoft:
Would you recommend an investment in Microsoft Corporation to a portfolio manager? What macro economic trends, industry events, and company specific details are the basis for your recommendation? Please use a blend of qualitative and quantitative analysis (financial ratios at minimum) when answering this question. Examples of financial ratios are price-to-earnings, price-to-book, price-to-sales, etc.
