Administrator of Athletics, Florida High School Athletic Association (FL)
Ed Thompson, MAA 2013

"Take the time and develop relationships with others in the cohort and faculty. The program opens a great many professional doors.

The support was outstanding, from the facilitators who were current or former administrators to my cohort who were all experiencing varying degrees of the same issues I was working through at my school.

The program provided a philosophical foundation for me as a high school athletic director at the time I did the program and allowed me to attach programming to education-based athletics principles."

Athletic Director, Dunbar High School in Baltimore, MD
Dana Johnson, MAA 2015

"Networking with the members of our cohort and getting various views on how things are done in their respective districts when it comes to athletics made the program valuable to me.

Several colleagues in my district have completed the master鈥檚 in athletic administration since my graduation. This program will provide you with the foundation you need to be an excellent athletic director.

Even though I have previous experience as an athletic director, this program made me truly understand the importance of planning for any type of occurrence."

Athletic Director, Marion-Franklin HS, OH
George W. Gamble II, MAA 2015

"The best decision I made was choosing 帝王会所. They had facilitators who retired and currently work in the industry. This gave me confidence in the curriculum and program.

The group projects had the most value鈥揵eing able to interact with other individuals even though we were in an online curriculum.

The highlight of my experience was the weekend seminar that was required for the MAA program. I was able to meet members of my cohort.

All the knowledge that I received I am currently using in my role as an Athletic Director."

VPA Activity Standards Committee Athletic Director Representative, Activities & Athletics Director - Oxbow High School, VT
Heidi Wright, MAA 2020

"As a high school athletic director, I have personally experienced the benefits of this program. It provides you with the tools and fills your toolbox with practical information and fundamental exercises that are essential for the role of an interscholastic athletic director.

Thanks to the financial management class, I've been able to apply the knowledge and skills I've gained to successfully manage the financial aspects of our athletic department. This includes preparing and managing budgets for new programs, making strategic decisions about large equipment purchases, and ensuring the department's daily needs are financially met.

The support from the faculty is not limited to the duration of your class or program. It extends beyond graduation, providing a safety net as you navigate your career. The networking opportunities continue to expand, ensuring you always have a community to rely on. The faculty's commitment to your success is unwavering, ensuring you gain a comprehensive understanding of each educational experience and exercise.

The 帝王会所 MAA program has made me a better athletic administrator. I chose it because it is the best program in the country for becoming a strong high school interscholastic athletic director."

Athletic Director, Mattawan Consolidated Schools, MI
Zachary Marcy, MAA 2023

"Earning my MAA at OHIO was a valuable choice for my career. All my classes and assignments taught or strengthened skills that I use in my current position as an athletic director. The professors were very supportive with a wealth of experience, and the advisors were extremely helpful. Everyone seemed invested in my success. If your goal is to be a high school athletic director, OHIO鈥檚 program puts you on a path to achieving that goal."

Athletic Director, Presque Isle HS (Maine), 2023 NIAAA Distinguished Service Award
Mark White, MAA 2012

"The coursework was very pragmatic. I am able to use the coursework in my daily role as an athletic administrator. Even 12 years after graduation from the MAA program, I am still using the mission statement, marketing plan, and numerous lists I developed for the MAA program.

The MAA program will provide you with skills that you will use throughout your career as an athletic administrator."

Athletic Director, Watervliet Public School District, MI
John Guillean, MAA 2022

"The Master of Athletic Administration does a great job covering aspects of being an athletic administrator. The professors bring years of experience from all levels of interscholastic athletics and are always open to conversations."

Director of Athletics and Physical Education, Phillips Exeter Academy, NH
Jason Baseden, MAA 2015

"The course that stood out to me the most was managing challenging behaviors and different personalities. In this role, we interact daily with an entire spectrum of personalities, and the part where we learned how to address and understand individuals who think differently has proved to be very valuable.

All the support I needed was there. Our classes and assignments were cohort-based, and we brought diverse experiences that worked well together. The program leadership was always there for us if we needed additional support.

The program gives a sound, principled foundation in the ins and outs of being an athletic administrator, but the skills learned are transferable beyond the realm of athletics."

Assistant Principal/Athletic Director, Bradshaw Mountain High School, AZ
Clairinda Weatherwax, MAA 2013

"It takes a lot to be successful as an athletic director, and the courses I took at 帝王会所 prepared me well for this role. Every teacher I had in the MS in Athletic Administration program was helpful and very responsive, and getting to work on real-life scenarios with other individuals on the same path made a big difference. This program spurred my success as an AD.

One thing I loved about OHIO鈥檚 MS in Athletic Administration program was being part of a cohort. The intense work we did and the relationships we built helped me grow and understand exactly what it takes to be an athletic director. Today, having a strong network to reach out to for other perspectives makes a big difference in my success as an AD.

帝王会所鈥檚 MAA program dives into what it means and what it takes to be a great athletic director. The work I completed in my courses prepared me well for what I am doing in my AD career, and being part of a cohort helped tremendously because I was able to work as part of a team. The coursework and the relationships I built at OHIO definitely spurred my success as an AD."

Athletic Director - Kenton City Schools
Brett Purcell, MAA 2016

"One of the major benefits of the OHIO MAA program is the accumulation of NIAAA LTI courses that are completed in conjunction with the regular coursework. This basically gives you double credit, one for the MAA program and one for the NIAAA LTIs. Once I completed the MAA program, I had enough LTI coursework to sit for the CAA exam and become a Certified Athletic Administrator.

The faculty have real-world experience in the aspects of their courses. Having current and former high school ADs ensures that as a student you are getting applicable information from people you know who have been in the position and actually completed the duties鈥痶hey are teaching about.

If your goal is to become a high school athletic director, this program will give you the knowledge and skills necessary to be prepared for the job from鈥痙ay one.

The MAA program validated the best practices for working as an AD. I was fortunate to have already been鈥痺orking as an athletic director when I completed the MAA program. What we were learning in the courses was exactly what I was doing each day in the position. This demonstrated to me that the OHIO MAA program was right in line with what the actual AD position does and would do a great job of preparing someone to be a successful AD."

Athletic Director: Benton-Carroll-Salem Local School District: Oak Harbor JH/HS
Justin Slauterbeck, MAA 2014

"Anyone can be a team player, but it takes special skills to become the team captain. The NIAAA leadership classes offered through OHIO鈥檚 online MAA program were an extreme advantage in providing me with a solid foundation of understanding athletic administration. I graduated ready to lead my team to victory in my career.

When it comes to athletic administration, teamwork and networking are key players. That鈥檚 why OHIO offers exciting networking opportunities to its MAA students, including those learning online. Through each course, students build a supportive team with others on their same career path and current pros of the industry.

Everyone has unique career goals. That鈥檚 why OHIO faculty coach each student with personalized attention. The faculty were extremely helpful in guiding me towards the career path I wanted to go down. Even while learning online, they spent time to understand my goals and help me make them my reality. They don鈥檛 put every student in the same box.

If you are thinking about a career in athletic administration, OHIO鈥檚 online Master of Athletic Administration degree is, hands down, the best available program. Even as an online learner, the program prepared me for my RAA and CAA certifications through the NIAAA without ever requiring me to travel to campus. Now, as a graduate, I connect with future athletic administrators as a way of giving back to this community."
